How to Wash With Waterless Car Wash

Quick and saves water, a waterless car wash solution lets you clean your vehicle without the hassle of using a water hose, bucket and soap. The solution is a concentrate that breaks down dirt, surface dust, fingerprints as well as other debris on your automobile's surfaces. When washing your vehicle using a waterless car wash, it is important to work in sections to keep the concentrate from drying on your vehicle's surface. You also want to work from top to bottom to keep any loose debris from contaminating clean areas.

Things You'll Need
Waterless car wash
4 or more microfiber towels
Latex gloves

Instructions

1. Park your vehicle in an area out of direct sunlight. Sunlight will dry the waterless car wash solution too quickly.

2. Spray 2 to 3 tbsp. of waterless car wash onto a microfiber towel to get the towel wet. Wear latex gloves to keep your hands clean and dry.

3. Spray the roof of automobile evenly with the waterless car wash. Spraying too much will waste the solution. Wipe your automobile's roof immediately in a circular motion with the wet microfiber towel. Wipe the roof clean with a dry microfiber towel.

4. Spray the hood, trunk or other section of your automobile evenly with the waterless car wash. Fold and re-wet the microfiber towel then wipe that section of your automobile immediately in a circular motion. When the towel becomes too soiled, use a new or clean one.

5. Wipe the section clean with a dry microfiber towel. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each section including the tires, windows and any trim.

Tips & Warnings

Once your automobile is clean, check for any spots you may have missed.

How to Start an Automatic Car Wash

Washing a car not only helps the owner have a more attractive vehicle, but is also much safer than driving a vehicle that has a build-up of dirt on the lights and windows. Most people take their car to the car wash, and when there, prefer to use the automatic car wash. It is the fastest, easiest and most efficient method of cleaning your automobile. Because everyone has to clean their vehicle eventually, many people consider this to be a golden business.

Things You'll Need
Photo identification
Business plan
Investment capital

Instructions

1.Write a business plan. The business plan should describe how your business will operate, including how the operations will be managed and how the business will be advertised. In the case of an automatic car wash, there is not much management required, but you may wish to consider advertising options to bring awareness of your car wash to the public.

2.Buy or lease a location for your car wash. If you are operating a stand-alone car wash, then it is probably best to buy the lot, because the car wash equipment can be difficult and expensive to move. If you own the lot, you do not have to worry about moving the equipment. If your car wash is operating on the premises of an existing business, then obtain a lease for the longest amount of time possible, with an option to renew the lease at the end of the term.

3.Register your business and obtain a business license so that you can pay taxes on the money that the car wash generates. Contact your local city clerk’s office, county clerk’s office or the secretary of state for the state in which your business is located. Any of these government offices can help you register your car wash as a legally recognized business.

4.Choose they type of automatic car wash that you would like to offer. There are two basic choices–standard and touchless. The standard car wash uses rollers with strips of cloth or rubber to wipe the surface of the car clean. The touchless system uses only cleaning agents and extremely high pressure water spray to clean the vehicle. On either type, you can also choose between having a drive-through system or a conveyer system that pulls the car through automatically.

5. Choose a vendor for the car wash equipment that you will use. There are a large number of companies that manufacture equipment for automatic car washes (see Resources below). Consider the size, cost and maintenance costs of different options, then choose the car wash equipment you want to purchase.

6. Determine your needs for a building for the car wash. This will depend largely on the equipment vendor that you selected in the previous step. Some car wash equipment packages include the bay that houses the equipment. Others sell only the car wash equipment, meaning that you will need to construct a building for the equipment. If you had partnered with an existing business for car wash space, you should also consult with that business owner about the general look of the building that your car wash will have.

7. Advertise your grand opening. Set a date for your opening and set aside a budget to advertise it. Handing out flyers, newspaper advertisements and local radio ads are popular ways to announce your car wash to the public. You may want to offer a special promotion for the first day as an incentive to get customers to visit, such as half-price car washes or one free car wash for every nine paid.

Tips & Warnings

Consider adding vacuum stations to your car wash, where customers can clean the inside of their car after washing the outside.
